Several new young authors from the East San Diego Boys and Girls Lakeside Club were honored earlier this month when they were presented their published, hard-bound books they wrote and designed as part of a pilot program funded by Voice of a Generation Foundation. Nearly 25 boys and girls took part in the celebration ceremony where Voice of a Generation Foundation President Michael Beteag and CEO Virginia Dixon were on hand to congratulate the kids and staff who took part in the program. The Club will hold another story drive this fall with double the participants and expansion plans for story drives at all four clubs in that region. Thanks to Barnes and Noble for also sponsoring the project by donating gift cards to every child who participated.
