Board Chair Virginia Dixon and VOG President Mike Beteag traveled to Florida to visit the movie set of “Letters to God,” a true story inspired by a little boy named Tyler Doherty from Nashville, Tennessee, who had brain cancer. The story centers around letters to God that Tyler wrote while dying from the horrible disease. The movie is set for an early 2010 release. Mike and Virginia met with the movie’s director, David Nixon (who produced “Fireproof” and “Facing the Giants”) to discuss opportunities for partnering with “Letters to God” to tell the stories of children who have cancer. We’ve been told one of the biggest fears of child cancer victims is that they won’t be remembered because they were on earth for such a short time. Our Foundation can capture these young voices and preserve their stories for generations to come!
